Chapter 1

Three young women watch a fortune-teller's crystal ball in fascination as she tells one of them, Suzuki Saya, that she will find a great passion that year... but with its problems.
Afterwards, the three friends walk around the temple complex [It's New Year's day and everybody goes to the temples in Japan :)] and go to pray for good things to happen to them. Saya is going to throw a 5 yen coin into the box [which you do before asking to the gods] but one of the girls, Ririka, stops her very angry telling her that she must spend at least a 500 yen coin... then they realize the other girl, Kazuyo, is about to throw a 5,000 yen bill! (^^; ) She wants happiness! (^^)
As they go away, Saya remembers certain Tokiwa-kun, which whom she seemed to have a relationship years ago... She wants to meet him again...

Back in her work as an office lady (OL), Saya is spanked by one of her bosses because she messed up one of the projects. The man, Tsuge-san, tells her that she is useless and never learns anything...
Saya cries in one empty room and complains to Kazuyo... Saya hates that man! They end up talking about guys and Kazuyo reminds her that she hasn't been with any guy in 7 years, and that she should forget about "what's-his-name" guy... but Tsuge-san interrumpts them and though Saya tries to run away, he asks her to stay. Would she like to go out with her?

Saya stares in shock. She wonders alound if he means it as... as... a girl and a man? Poor Tsuge-san wonders how he came to like her with her being so dumb, but Saya is still in shock, she had never though about him that way!

Back in home, Saya is wondering what to do... memories of Tokiwa keep on appearing in her mind.
Next day, Saya tries to eat while Tsuge isn't around, but, of course, he catches her in the act. She is very nerovous and doesn't know what to say. She finally asks him (in a ver high pitchy voice ^^; ) if he was for real the day before. He nods and proceeds to explain things rather coolly, to poor Saya.
Later on, she tells Kazuyo about what's happening and Kazuyo thinks it's great. Not only Saya finally gets a man, but Tsuge-san is such a great catch! (tall, handsome, lives alone in a big appartment... ) Kazuyo tells her to forget about the stupid other guy and use this opportunity to get some action in her life.

In the night, Saya wonders about what Kazuyo said. She acknowledges that she is no longer the same person as when she met the other guy (14 years old).

At work, Saya ends up agreeing to meet another guy after work (rather naively). The guy wants to have an affair with her and is a little pushy, but Tsuge-san "saves" her and takes her away. He is very mad that she is so stupid as to fall in such a trap and tells her that she should be more careful. She gets mad as well and returns home.
Once in home, she learns that there is going to be an old-classmates reunion from her school... it's her chance to see Tokiwa-kun again!

In the meeting, she mistakes another guy for Tokiwa. The guy is Tokiwa's twin brother, and, as he tells her, Tokiwa married and is abroad right now, but he always thought good of her.
Saya is crushed.

Tsuge-san is out with a client (very typical in Japan, for businessmen to go out with the business clients to get drunk and stuff) when he spots Saya alone in a bar. He decides to go inside and sits besides her.
Saya (rather drunk) starts to tell Tsuge-san about the meeting and how she wanted to see Tokiwa-kun. They separated, but Saya has been always waiting for him. She tells a surprised Tsuge-san that he is now married and out of the country... he didn't wait much before forgeting about her!
Tsuge-san comments about 14 year olds making promises is usually something silly and Saya gets very mad at him and tells him that theirs was real passion and that because of him she never wanted to go out with any other boy.

After her outburst, Tsuge-san pats her and tells her that she should start her "rehabilitation" (about going out with men) with him... Saya thinks that his hand feels like a father's--but it isn't; it's not like Tokiwa's either, it's the hand of a man, an adult.
The following day, Saya gets a note from Tsuge-san giving her a time and place for a date for the start of her "rehabilitation". Saya Suzuki, 21 years old, might finally get to like a man after 7 years!

Chapter 2

Ririka tells Saya and and Kazuyo that she broke up with her boyfriend... and now has nobody to spend her birthday with! While at work at the entrance hall desk of the building, Ririka keeps thinking that all men that come are worthless compared with her "prince", that is, like her previous boyfriend. She starts to get depressed as she wonders where her next prince is...

Meanwhile, somebody arrives at the desk, and when Ririka looks up... it's the perfect guy! Before he goes away, she manages to snatch the end of his scarf and almost cut his head off...
While appologizing profusely, Ririka realizes he is Saya's twin brother, Outa. Later on, she convinces him to have dinner with her so she doesn't have to spend her birthday alone.
During the dinner, they both hit off rather well. He is a 3rd year university student and tells Ririka about all the evil things Saya told him about her... (^o^; )

Afterwards, as they leave the restaurant, they happen to bump into her exboyfriend and his new girlfriend, who laughes at Ririka for going out with a univerity student (as opposed to a nice businessman like her ex, who would have the money to take her to expensive places and stuff). Ririka is upset at the encounter and Outa invites her to go out all night long with him and get really drunk... next thing Ririka knows is that it's morning and she and Outa are naked in bed!

After Ririka is gone, Outa doesn't look all that happy. On the other hand, she is totally taken by Outa and decides to call in sick and return to talk to him (even if he is just an university student!). She tells him that it's the first time she has felt something like this and he agrees... and they go back to bed (^^; )

Unfortunately, they both oversleep, and while Outa is helping Ririka to put on her clothes, he seems to be in a real hurry. No wonder! Saya returns home while Ririka is still dressing up and she spanks Outa for taking a girl home to do it. Ririka turns around and greets Saya.
Saya is in shock to find it's Ririka! She turns to Outa and asks him what happened to his girlfriend from the university...
Ririka is surprised and very hurt while Saya slaps Outa for doing that to one of her friends.

Later Saya tells Tsuge-san as they are parked in his car all what happened between Ririka and her brother. He tells her not to worry so much, and to relax a little. It's time for the second phase of her "rehabilitation," he adds before he tries to kiss her, to Saya's horror!

Chapter 3

Cool as always, Kazuyo is in a restaurant with a young man, who blushingly and suddenly tells her that he wants a St.Valentin chocolate from her... not just duty chocolate (*), but from the heart!

At work, Tsuge-san, sporting some nice scratches on his cheek, outlines their plans for the month of February. Later on, the OL talk about the scratches and arrive to the conclussion that it had to be a girl who did it. Kazuya, having arrived to the correct conclusion, leaves with Saya to deliver tea and tells her she knows it was she. Saya is very nervous about it and says that it was very sudden because they had just talked about Ririka and Outa's problem and she wasn't exactly in the mood! Saya cries that Tsuge-san's face was very scary...

A senpai OL (one of the girls who has been working in the company longer than them both) gives them some money from the rest of the women as it is custom that first-year girls have to go buy the duty chocolate for the business men. Saya wonders if it's not a good idea to give St.V chocolate to Tsuge-san, but Kazuyo tells her to give it to him, since she can at least do that as an apology. Later on Kazuyo ponders about people's different personalities and how Ririka is the type to run and tell while Saya is the type to show everything on the face.
Back in home, Kazuyo talks with somebody on the phone, the guy she is currently seeing, and thinks she always has to wait for him.

Next morning, the guy that originally asked Kazuyo for chocolate arrives at her home to go with her to work. Kazuyo is not very happy and tells him it's not high school anymore. The man, Aida, replies that he has no other time when to see her. Kazuyo reminds him that she is seeing somebody else and asks him why he keeps using polite tone with her, since they're of the same age-frame. He says that she is her superior since she was already working there when he started at the company. She starts to say he is not her type, but a man bumps into her and she falls down the stairs! Aida stops her fall and ends up on the floor. After having Kazuyo worrying about him, he says that she is a good person (and that was it, of course ^^;; ).

After their chocolate buying trip, Kazuyo ignores Aida and he cries his story over Saya, and the next day, Saya decides to give him a photo of Kazuyo. As they laugh together, one of the bosses comments to Tsuge-san what a good friends they seem to have become. Later during dinner, Kazuyo spanks Aida for being like that in public with Saya while she is having a delicate situation with her boyfriend. Kazuyo asks him why he didn't become a pro in beisbol (Aida is very good at it), and he says that he wanted a steady job for his family's sake... and he also wants to become a person like Kazuyo!
Then Aida proceeds to get drunk as to hide his blushing and poor Kazuyo has to drag him back to her house. While she is taking care of him, he decides to pass to the attack (and all Kazuyo can think of is how heavy he is...), and after he kisses her, she asks him if he wants to become her sex friend.

Aida is shocked at that, and Kazuyo explains that even though she won't go out with a person like him, they can still have some interesting moments together... isn't that what he wanted right now? Aida goes away very mad, telling Kazuyo that he likes her. Kazuyo is left pondering about how deciding between things like "like" and "hate" is not a simple thing when you are in an adult's world.

On St. Valentin day, the business men get their duty chocolate from the smiling OLs and later at night, Saya and Tsuge-san meet at a park.
Saya gives Tsuge-san her chocolate (which looks rather horrible ^^; ) and tells him that's it's not a duty chocolate, even if he says it looks like one. Saya then apologizes for the scratches and Tsuge-san, after taking her hands in his, asks her if she is scared of him.
After thinking for a moment, Saya says it's not that, and Tsuge-san tells her that she has a very different expression when she is with him than when she is with other co-workers...

At the office, Kazuyo returns the coat Aida forgot at her house along with a chocolate, and he tells her to wait for him, and that he will turn into the kind of man she likes! (Then drags her for dinner... again... ^^; )

Back in the park, Saya finally gets a kiss from Tsuge-san. (^^)

(*: In Japan, for St.Valentin's day, it's custom for girls like OLs to give small chocolates to their bosses, this is called "duty chocolate." Also, the term is used for any kind of St. Valentin chocolate gift that is not related to couple love, such as choco for your best male friends, coworkers, etc...)
