Important Note! It's really hard to describe some scenes because Ikeno's art can be very action and comedy/cartoonish oriented, so what reads horrible and totally unfunny it's not reality, but my fault. I've tried providing some examples of the gags in the scans, so if you think you like the style, you are much better off getting the manga and reading these synopsis just to get the gist of what's going on ^^

Chapter 8

NOTE! I messed up with the chapter numbers in the first volume. It has only three chapters while I divided it in 5 chapters. I have now joined my supposed chapters 3, 4 and 5 into the chapter 3 it should be, but divided into 3 parts for easier reading. Eventually, I will quit the parts and make it a whole :) Sorry for the incoveniences!

Chapter 1
In a night like any other, poor Ranze tries to stop her parents from killing each other, while she avoids flying furniture. Ranze's father, who looks like a vampire, is being beaten around by Ranze's mother, who is a werewolf. Ranze helps the poor man and gives him a mant, which he uses to transform into a bat and fly through the window! Ranze is left in the middle of a mountain of broken things. Ranze's little Brother, Rinze, wakes up from all the noise, and wonders if there was a fight. Ranze tells him not to worry and go to sleep, it was the same fight as always (^^;;; ) Once in bed, Ranze daydreams about the guy she likes a lot, Makabe Shun (even though her mother is always saying humans are a no-go!) Next morning it's raining rather heavily, so Ranze drags her (beaten-up) father out of his casket (literally) and convinces him to transform into an... umbrella! Once in class, Ranze observes that Makabe is late (he sits next to her). When he does appear, he is full of bruises, to the shock of other students. He tells Ranze about the fight and shows her some of the punches (knocking her out in the process... ). Ranze is... in heaven! Though another of the girls doesn't seem too happy. The teacher announces a test and Ranze is not very optimistic about her ability to pass it. However, next to her, Makabe pokes the guy in front of him, and to her utter surprise, the guy lifts his shirt and he has the answers written on his back! Shun whispers to her that it's ok to look. Ranze is not silly enough not to, even if it means looking at a guy's naked back. The girl from before, Kamiya Youko, is really unhappy by now, and tells the teacher about what they are doing, for what the three of them (nameless bareback too, poor guy ^^;;; ) get a round 0 on their tests! Shun is really annoyed at this, and Ranze gives Youko a really odd face, which irritates her to no end. It irritates her so much that later on, while Ranze tries to make Makabe "return home" with her (very usual between couples in japanese schools), Youko sneaks to Ranze's locker, takes her umbrella and breaks it in the middle!! (ouch!) Ranze is worried because she can't find the umbrella and wonders where her father went to... Makabe offers to share his. As they go out, they see Youko returning home with her father in an expensive car (he seems to be a yakuza leader... ^^; ). Ranze tells Makabe that she wants to be his friend. When she arrives home, her mother asks her what she did at school, and she happily avoids mentioning the test incident. However someone stuck a paper to her back that says it all... Ranze's mother spanks her very hard, but they are interrumpted by Ranze's father, who returns home looking horrible. He tells the family about the horrible girl who did that to him and Ranze realizes it was Youko. Ranze meets with Youko at a cafe, and they end up in the girls' toilet arquing about Makabe, who Youko claims is her fiancee! The discussion grows and Youko ends up slapping Ranze... Ranze is so mad that out of pure instinct she seizes Youko and bites her in the neck! Youko faints and Ranze starts to have a weird reaction, that ends up in she looking like an exact copy of Youko (clothes included). Poor Ranze is taken away by Youko's father and submitted to horrible tortures (like eating tons of onion, which Youko loves and she hates) until she finally manages to escape Youko's home and return to her family's mansion. Unfortunately, her parents also think she is Youko, and she is about to be beaten up by her own father when Rinze appears and recognizes her as Ranze. Ranze explains what happened, and her parents start celebrating like crazy because Ranze has powers as well. Ranze's mother makes a big act out of returning Ranze to normal (in fact, it's just a question of making her sneeze!), and at the same time, Youko wakes up at the cafe's toilet. Ranze's parents turn serious and tell Ranze they must show her something... a secret door. Shira (Ranze's mother), stucks her fingers into the nose of a bust in the mansion (don't ask ^^; ), and a secret door appears in the floor. They follow some stairs down and they show Ranze another door, that when open, shows a enormous ammount of space, and a very tiny path going from the door to a city far away in the distance. It's the "fog's path," and on the other side is where the people like them live. Shira says that Ranze's future husband also lives there... because human men are a no-go. Ranze returns to her room not very happy with her parent's attitude towards human beings, specially male ones. But, no problem! Ranze will overcome those problems and keep on pursuing her dear Makabe-kun! She cheers herself up by thinking of all the ways she can be with him... transformed into a little bird... a cat... his pillow... (ahem!)
Chapter 2
A very happy Ranze arrives at school... to find Youko in a really bad mood because of their conversation about Shun the day before. The two of them start talking pretty and end up fighting in front of the class (^^;) The class teacher informs everybody about the upcoming summer school trip. The class will go to the beach, and they are all very happy. Ranze and Youko, of course, end up fighting again because they are both in the same group along with Shun. At home, Ranze is going around happily and almost lets it slip that the reason she is so happy about going to the school trip is that she will go with Makabe-kun. Late at night, her mother checks on her after Ranze has gone to sleep and finds her happy noises pretty suspicious... She makes a spell and takes the dream out of Ranze's head, transforming it into a big cloud, which she can zip open and step inside Ranze's dream! Unfortunately, Ranze happens to be dreaming about her and Shun all alone in the beach about to kiss... Shira gets very angry at her and decides to ask for help to Ranze's father, who doesn't really want to get involved (poor guy ^^;; ) Next day, Ranze's father and the family talking parrot follows her all around to try discover who the guy in her dreams is. During class, Ranze reads a note sent to Shun from Youko, asking him to meet her later. She sneaks into the place, the gym storage room, where they are supposed to meet and bites a baseball ball so she can take its form and spy without problems. Youko and Shun arrive to the room and she asks him who he likes more between her and Ranze. Shun says he really doesn't care about girls right now, ignores Youko's threats (her fahter is the owner of the gym where Shun trains), and goes to play baseball with Ranze-ball! Poor Ranze is homerunned all the way to a distant ramen shop... (^^;) Ranze returns to school and decides to follow Shun by turning into a little bird. Shun lets her into his room in an appartment building and feeds her. Unfortunately, he also puts her into a bird cage along with his own bird before leaving for training... She and the bird end up fighting, but Ranze sneezes and breaks the cage when turning back into her normal self. But Shun's mother heard the noise and is coming back to the room, so Ranze bites Shun's cat! Shun returns from training and goes to take a shower-bath, taking Ranze-cat with him! Ranze-cat keeps her eyes tightly closed all the while (thought that doesn't stop her from daydreaming in pure happiness... ). Sadly for her, she ends up sneezing because of her own cat hairs... right in the middle of Shun's bath!
