Chapter 3
Through various malabarisims and other inventive tricks, Ranze manages to avoid Shun spotting her! (Like crawling to the roof, submersing in the bath's water, etc... ^^;;; ) But because of Shun's mother coming to clean up the bath after Shun is finished, Ranze ends up hanging from the window... fortunately, it's only the first floor! Unfortunately, Ranze's father is outside waiting for her... Ranze tells her father about her feelings for Shun and that she can't understand why it's wrong to fall for a normal human. She asks him no to tell mom, but he is noncommittal. Back in home, Ranze's mother happily orders through the phone for a delivery service to carry Ranze's dad's coffin (with him inside!) to the place where the school will be having the field trip; so he can spy on Ranze, of course (poor man... ) Next day, Ranze leaves for the trip without knowing what became of her father. After she leaves, her mom goes to the secret basement, and because Ranze arrived all wet and her father refused to give any explanation and run to his studio, she is having some doubts... The first door she opens turns to be the toilet (ahem!), but the second takes her to the road to the Magic Kingdom/Hell, where Sheera talks with a misterious being and orders him to keep an eye on Ranze and this Makabe-kun guy. Ranze is all excited about her trip, so Youko can't miss the opportunity to laugh at her. The students arrive to the inn, which is a little scary... Ranze's dad also arrives, al melancholic about the long past happy days with his wife; and of course, the mistery guy Sheera sent....
Chapter 3 Part B
One of the teachers explains the schedule for the 3-day trip to the students. It looks like it's going to be great fun, with time for swiming, a camp fire, fireworks, etc... But Ranze is very depressed with the realization that in a "seaside trip" there is bound to be sea nearby... A friend asks her what is wrong, and as it turns out, Ranze doesn't know how to swim! But because all the swiming is part of their grades, Shun decides to teach Ranze how to swim! (Ranze can't believe her luck...) Of course Youko doesn't like this and makes fun of her all the time. Poor Ranze can't help remember what she saw of Shun's naked body back in the bathroom episode everytime she sees him in the swimsuit... Also, because she had such a bad time hidding in the bath's water, she now has serious problems when diving. Shun makes her work hard nevertheless and helps her with her fear. Ranze thinks he is a really good person. In the distance, the man Sheera sent, takes notes of what is happening... as well as making some cute-girl sightseeing. (^^; ) Ranze's father is also looking at her having fun, having even more doubts about that of "not being able to marry a human." In the first night of the trip, they have a "big event," which consists in a kind of horror-trip through a nearby cemmetery. Youko tricks Ranze and she has to stand in as one of the ghosts and scare the students. But not only she hates having to do it because it's boring, but everybody recognizes her, to her utter chagrin (^^;;; ). Meanwhile, Youko has managed to attach herself to Shun, and sends her father to scare Ranze. Ranze's father sees him, but before he can do anything, Ranze makes the best scare of her life for Youko (because she is mad that Shun is going with her), managing to scare the life out of both Youko and her father. Shun finds her very amusing... For the icing, when the poor parent wakes up, Ranze's father puts on his best "vampire look" and the poor man runs away in total terror... After the shock, Youko climbs to Shun, and Ranze's father realizes that this nice guy who helped Ranze swim and all that, it's actually Ranze's human crush! He looks at him better trying to find out what type of man he is, but then he realizes that the girl he is with (Youko) is the same one that broke him in half back when he was an umbrella! (1st chapter) He tries to hipnotize her, but Shun notices that he is trying to do something to her and beats the hell out of the poor man, before taking Youko away (^^;;; ) As Ranze's father walks away, he crashes into the man Seera sent, Sand... Ranze's father realizes that Sheera sent him and he wonders about her plans. Ranze writes a letter to her family, and remembers the nice moments while Shun was helping her swim and how she finally managed. Ranze's father is all in tears when seeing her write all her (non-shun) experiences... such a nice girl! Next morning, Ranze wakes up early and goes for a walk to the beach. To her surprise, she finds Shun there, having his daily run-training. They talk a while about him becoming a boxer as he wants to. Shun asks her what she wants to become (she wants to become his bride... ^^;;; ), but after Ranze digs a whole in the sand while imagining their wedding, he starts to go away. Ranze thanks him for helping her swim, and says he is a good person, but he tells her she is wrong and starts to act like the bad boy everybody thinks he is. Ranze tells him not to say those things because she knows he is a good person! Shun is surprised at her defense and tries to go away, but Ranze seizes his arm and tells him that he is also good to cats and birds and... Ranze realizes what she just said (*) and runs away. Shun doesn't know what to do with it and think she is weird... it's the first time he has seen her like that... That second day, it's swiming competition! Ranze is depressed about their fight-like encounter that morning and stays with her friend. However, she grows tired after a while, and Shun hands her a cute life saver. Ranze is happy that he thought and checked on her, but Youko is mad, so she makes a hole in it with a hairpin! Ranze goes down like a stone to the horror of her classmates and her father. But Ranze is not giving up! However, as she attempts to swim to the surface, she sees a shark coming towards her! * - In the 1st chapter, Ranze turns into a bird and Shun's cat to be with him.
Chapter 3 Part C
Ranze is being approached by a shark and thinks she is going to die but suddenly her better instincts take control over her and she uses her special power to bite it and turn into a shark-copy! Now Ranze-shark is really mad at Youko and bites off a bit of her swiming suit. However, when she sneezes and turns into herself she realices she has only turned half back into Ranze... the other half is still a shark's tail! Ranze swims away and ends up taking cover behind some rocks, where she finds Youko hiding as well because of the hole in the lower back part of her swiming suit Ranze bit off... (^^;;; ) Eventually, Ranze joins Shun and her classmates, but because it's starting to rain, they are told to go back ashore. Unfortunately she ends up sneezing and turns back into her whole self, sinking right away into the sea. Shun takes her out of the water in his arms and is about to practice mouth-to-mouth CPR when Ranze wakes up. She is very happy when she is told what happened and thanks Shun a lot as her friend teases her about the near kiss... Ranze is in happyness paradise! (^^) Meanwhile, Ranze's father and Sand think about how Shun saved Ranze and how happy she seems to be with him. Back in home, Sheera gets a report-letter from Sand and is horrified at the really (really, really, really) bad handwritting and stupid news, so she decides to turn into a wolf and go there herself. Back to Ranze, she finally discovers her father when he falls from a tree while sleeping (^^; ), and to his surprise, she is very happy to see him as she thinks he came because he was worried about her. She tells him how happy she is and what a good time she is having. Both he and Sand are totally won over... At the camp fire, Ranze tries to get Shun to join the other classmates in dancing, and of course they end up being teased about them making a couple (to Youko's horror). Meanwhile, Ranze's father and Sand get totally drunk and Sheera arrives just to see them totally wasted. She is really furious and gets even madder when she sees Ranze dancing with Shun. Ranze's father tries to stop her and Sheera invokes a storm. Ranze realizes that her mother is around and worries that she saw her with Shun as he himself tries to take Ranze to a a safer place. Unfortunately, Sheera-wolf gets free from Ranze's father and jumps prepared to attack Shun... but it's Ranze who sees her coming, pushes Shun aside and ends up being hurt instead! Ranze falls to the floor unconcious.
