Chp.1: Midori no No.1 Boy
(Midori's number 1 boy)

Midori, Sayako and Rui are all sleeping at Midori's house. The three of them go to the last year in the same school, are in the same class and are the best of friends. As they go to sleep, Midori thinks and dreams about her idol, Mizushima, an ace in volley-ball and member of the national Japanese team.
And so, big is Midori's surprise when the next day the teacher presents a new student, Mizushima Tatsuru!

However, this Mizushima has nothing to do with the other Mizushima, and because Midori is such a big fan of the volley-player Mizushima, the teacher tells Tatsuru to sit at her side. This doesn't make Midori too happy and she seems to hate him because of the shock. (Tatsuru is a very nice, simple-looking boy with glasses-- he has nothing to do with her idol!)

In one of the rests, Sayako and Rui talk with Tutsuru and find him a very agreeable and sweet person. They take him to see Midori as she trains (she is very good at volley-ball), and Tatsuru is very impressed with her. But Midori sees him and tries to act as if she wouldn't have noticed they were there, finishing with a good bruise in her head for not paying attention to the ball ^^

As another day passes, Midori finds herself more and more affected everytime somebody calls Mizushima, and when a classmate teases her about liking "Mizushima" and getting engaged to "Mizushima" (reffering to Tatsuru and playing on Midori's liking to the volley-Mizushima), Midori explodes and slaps her classmate--making him fall the stairs right over poor Tatsuru!

Tatsuru's glasses are broken (he's still using them, though), and Midori is sorry for it, so she goes to his place to apologize with a cake as a present.
Tatsuru finds her in the outside after she decides not to call after all. There Midori realizes how nice he is and between some things and the others the cake finish on the floor lying down (^^).

A very happy Tatsuru invites to drink some tea and eat the cake (or what's left of) in his apartment (a little, cozy one). Midori has a shame-attack because of the way she has treated him (and for what she has thought about him) and apologizes profusely.
He tries to calm her down and finishes saying that he likes him (in other words). They both grow very flushed and nervous. Midori tries to get his glasses of because she wants to compensate/pay for them, but when she finally takes a look at him without them... He's really good-looking! Midori is taken by surprise by this and because of his proximity and grows even more flushed and nervous.... until the water boiler starts to beep and she runs away in confusion leaving poor Tatsuru blushing and blind (^^;;;)

The next day Tatsuru appears without glasses--he's using compacts now--and Midori keeps on blushing (much to her annoyance). When they arrive at their classroom they discover that some idiot has been writing things about Midori and Tatsuru on the blackboard.
Tatsuru is angry at this and goes to erase them, but Midori stops him and tells the whole class that they are now a couple!

Tatsuru doesn't know what's going on (just like the rest of the class ^^; ) and Midori ends up declaring that she likes him very much. It's too much for poor Tatsuru and he faints right away (probably all that blood in his face... ^^ )

After classes Midori meets with Mizushima, who was waiting for him. Students around them are gossiping very happily about them both, but they couldn't care less. The stupid classmate shows up with a magazine that features the last scandal from Mizushima and another woman, hoping to make her mad. But after a quick, bored look at it she throws it away--she doesn't care about that anymore, she now has her own Mizushima! ^^

Next Chapter
