Note: B/w scans are from the magazine, where the print is in low quality paper and different ink colors so it sometimes scans pretty bad and leaves lots of noise in the picture. The tankoubon quality is, of course, much better (perfect, that is).

Chapter 18 (Nov'2002) [ vol.04 ]
Kyouko makes a very good acting and impresses everybody, but then switches to the opposite role (it's a older sister - younger sister dialogue) of younger sister to help Maria deal with her abandoment feelings about her father. Because of this switch, she failed the "test," but Maria now has started to solve her problem and has decided to start writing back to her father.
Chapter 19 (Nov'2002) [ vol.04 ]
(version 1.1) Maria asks Kyouko about her relationship with her father, but she says she doesn't have a father... Poor Maria retracts and asks about her mother then but... Kyouko is suddenly surrounded by gloomy mist... (^^;;; ) Maria panics and wonders if she also lost her mother, but Kyouko says that it's not that, she does have a mother. Kyouko changes the topic and tells Maria that if she tells her father she wants to meet, he will return right away. However the president has noticed that something's going on with Kyouko... They talk a little after Maria has left and Kyouko admits there is no one to care about her. The president ponders about Kyouko for a while afterwards. Kyouko holds her treasure stone (which she has named "corn," as in... corn. (^^;;; ), after the person who gave it to her) and cheers herself up. Sawara finds her and Kyouko unintentionally drops the stone, all the way down the staircase! Ren happens to pick it up and after seeing Kyouko look for it desperately, he returns it to her. He and Sawara are very surprised at the smile on Kyouko's face. Sawara thinks it's the first time he has seen such a smile on her face. However, after Kyouko thanks Ren for returning the stone, he shocks her by asking if she used to live in Kyoto. She didn't tell anyone about that, and nobody had discovered it yet... how come Ren has guessed?!
Chapter 20 (Dec'2002) [ vol.04 ]
Kyouko evades Ren's questions and ends up being really rude to him (so she spends the rest of the week trying to hide from him... ^^; ). As it turns out, Ren has remembered giving back this same stone to a smiling Kyouko when she was a little girl. Kyouko manages to get a "job" for her and Kanae, but it turns out to be just as an audience member (Kanae had slighty higher expectations!). However a member of the staff approaches them because they are in need of one person for a job. Kanae immediately agrees on the job, but it's Kyouko who ends up doing it... dressed as the chicken-mascot of the show! Since her job is just to fool around and she has no lines, she should be fine. Unfortunately, one of the guests of the show is none other than Shou! (Poor Kyouko...)
