Synopsis

All synopsis are by Zahara Medina, and cannot be used anywhere else without her permission. As she is just a student of Japanese, any help, comments or corrections are more than welcome! ^^;
Please, go to the Image Gallery to see the covers in full! ^^
(And remember to buy these tankobon if you like the summaries, it's the best way of thanking the authors and the synopsis are nothing compared to the real thing! ^^ )

Note: B/w scans are from the magazine, where the print is in low quality paper and different ink colors so it sometimes scans pretty bad and leaves lots of noise in the picture. The tankoubon quality is, of course, much better (perfect, that is).

Chapter 36 (Sep'2003) [ vol.07 ]

Kyouko tells Ren that all her recent efforts towards acting and the showbiz world may be because she wants to "make" (re-discover) herself since all this time she has just done what she thought would make others happy (Shoutarou, her mother, etc...). She tells him now it's different. Ren smiles and says he believes her. Kyouko starts warming up to him.
Later at home he stops her from overworking herself over her studies, as she has been subconsciously studying as if she had to get full marks (just like she used to do for her mother).

Next day they are late for his next work because of the traffic. Ren ponders using the underground, but Kyouko doesn't want him to because his fans would probably notice him and it could get really bad. She manages to get a bicycle by using her Kyouko-demons on some poor obnoxious guy and tells Ren she will take him to the job. Ren of course, accepts.

Chapter 37 (Oct'2003) [ vol.07 ]

By animecat. Thanks! ^^

Kyouko has successfully made it into high school and is happily attending each day. The only problem is her class is made up entirely of kids who want to be famous. All her classmates have attitudes and frequently leave early or take time off for work. One girl in particular, Nanokura Mimori, seems to have something against Kyouko for no real reason. Also, the commercial featuring Kotonami and Kyouko has started airing on television. Though Kotonami is highly praised for her performance, people don't seem to be very impressed by Kyouko.
On her way to a job, Kyouko is intercepted by Ren! He wants to give her a stamp in gratitude for helping him when he was sick. At first, Ren gives Kyouko a 100 point stamp but while he is doing that she talks to his manager about the fact that what she did was all just part of her job. This annoys Ren so he also gives her a negative 10 stamp! At the same time, LME is getting a phone call from a record company interested in using Kotonami and Kyouko in a Fuwa Shou promo video!

Chapter 38 (Oct'2003) [ vol.07 ]

Kyouko is not exactly the happiest person in the world when she learns about the job (we missed you, Kyouko-demons~~ ^o^). Kotonami arrives to work in a dazed state, turns out she has been offered a role in a TV drama series(*). Because of conflicting schedules she wonders if the people from Shou's video will accept Kyouko alone, because she really wants to do the drama. Kyouko manages to make a 180 degree change in attitude and arrives to the conclusion that she can use the video as a tool to step up in her career (and step over Shou as well, why not!).
At Shou's company, Shou can't believe Kotonami preferred another job to starring in his video. His manager thinks however that he seems to have some kind of preference over Kyouko, when in fact he is looking at her so much because he is not completely sure if that is the Kyouko he knew or not.
Ren leaves for a week on work matters and meanwhile, Kyouko finally ends up face to face with Shou.

(* - Japanese (real live action) television series are called "drama." There are two types: series, which usually last 13 episodes but can be shorter; and so-called "drama specials," which are a 1-2 hour mini drama movie. Most of these drama specials are usually murder mysteries. The job Kotonami was offered was in a 2 hour drama special.
There are a couple of exceptions to the short-term rule, daily dramas, which tend to last about 50 or more episodes (but these are very different from the soap operas we are used to in the west), and samurai/period sagas (which are made of endless self-conclusive episodes where mostly everybody dies eventually ^^; ))
