Synopsis

All synopsis are by Zahara Medina, and cannot be used anywhere else without her permission. As she is just a student of Japanese, any help, comments or corrections are more than welcome! ^^;
Please, go to the Image Gallery to see the covers in full! ^^
(And remember to buy these tankobon if you like the summaries, it's the best way of thanking the authors and the synopsis are nothing compared to the real thing! ^^ )

Note: B/w scans are from the magazine, where the print is in low quality paper and different ink colors so it sometimes scans pretty bad and leaves lots of noise in the picture. The tankoubon quality is, of course, much better (perfect, that is).

Chapter 42 (Jan'2004)

Mimori and Kyouko talk about Shou, and Kyouko tells Mimori she has nothing to worry about because as she told her before, Shou's type is Mimori. Mimori seems unsure of herself.
Meanwhile, Shou talk with the producer and it seems he still has some "proprietary" views over Kyouko.

The promo video taping continues and they arrive at the scene when the rejected angel (Kyouko) has to kill the demon (Shou). After much hostility the scene starts but... Kyouko is killing Shou for real!! (^^;;; ) After other tries, she is still unable to do the scene in a non-hyper-violent-real-strangling way. The producer talks with her and tells her she is sure Kyouko will be able to do it because she showed such a nice "angel acting" before with Mimori. Kyouko thinks that was because she imagined Mimori was Momoko. (Kyouko is supposed to still act as an angel, not as a killing demon machine...)
Of course along comes Shou to give her snide comments and Kyouko's frustration reaches new levels. Kyouko depresses thinking she can't do the correct acting and starts to doubt herself. She takes out a "Ren-doll" (similar to Maria's Ren-dolls from the end of vol.3 ^^;) and remembers some of his advice. She then asks him mentally what she should do.

Chapter 43 (Jan'2004)

v.1.1 (thanks to Erin to pointing it out!)

A depressed Kyouko ponders with whom aside Kotonami she can talk to about her problems. She sees Ren-doll, but she realizes that she doesn't even have his phone number! Besides, she tells herself, he is in the middle of a job and she shouldn't disturb him.
Nevertheless she manages to call him but the answering machine is on, so she starts to leave a message. However as she is about to tell him... she realizes she doesn't really know how to say it (except in a very convulted paniked way), so at the end she just gets cut off. (^^;;;)
After this, she ends up having a long conversation with Kotonami over the phone and keeps pondering over what her character would be feeling. Just in time for the rehearsal for the re-take of the scene, she realizes how she/her character would be feeling when having to kill her best friend's (so to speak) lover and Kyouko is happy she has managed to solve this performance situation on her own for the first time. With tears in her eyes and a very sad expression she slowly puts her hands around Shou's neck...

Chapter 44 (Feb'2004)

Kyouko cries in something similar to anguish as she pushes Shou off the balcony. The producer is very impressed and pays attention to the most important part, the expression on Kyouko's character (angel) after killing a demon, Kyouko offers a evilly smile like if she just sold her soul out the devil. The producer is even more impressed.
Meanwhile, Shou was so surprised at Kyouko's acting that he forgot his own acting and is reprimanded by the producer. He remembers the first and only time he saw her crying, and it was after a confrontation with her mother when she was little. Just like now, he had no idea on how to react to her tears, but because she never cried again, he never had to worry about it. Shou catches himself feeling tender toward her.

Meanwhile, Ren has noticed that someone called him on his cell phone and that it was Kyouko. He is surprised because it's the first time he got a call from her and decides to check the answering machine message she left. His manager sees this and is shocked because it's the first time Ren checked his messages while in the middle of work hours. He is even more shocked when after hearing Kyouko's weird message (of the "I want to say something but I decide not to" type) he calls her back! The manager wonders who this person might be for Ren to act so out of the norm. Unfortunately, Kyouko's phone just rings but nobody picks up.

Back at the stage, Kyouko is very happy she managed to act, but then receives a setback when she realizes it was just the rehearsal, not the actual taping (^^;;; ). After a talk with the producer, who says the really good thing is that Kyouko managed to contain her real self (aka, demons), she is all cheered up.
When they are ready to film the real version, the producer reminds Shou to remember to act his part and Kyouko, of course, uses this opportunity to repeat to him exactly the same things he told her when he mocked her for forgetting her part (back when she turned into demons-killing-Shou-for-real ^^ ). Shou is in total agony! (^__^)
