Note: B/w scans are from the magazine, where the print is in low quality paper and different ink colors so it sometimes scans pretty bad and leaves lots of noise in the picture. The tankoubon quality is, of course, much better (perfect, that is).

Chapter 48 (Apr'2004)
Yashiro attempts to discover what Ren knows about Kyouko and Shou. Kyouko and Maria follow Kotonami... just to discover her, in a blonde wig, with some guy! The shock! They both follow the couple as they have a normal date tour (food, window shopping, etc...). Maria wishing it was herself with Ren, Kyouko wishing it was herself with Kotonami in friend-mode. But eventually Kyouko's demons wins and the guy starts to experience strange pains in random parts of his body (Maria is really impressed with Kyouko's ability...). After a while she lets the guy go, thinking that even if she is lonely, as long as Kotonami is happy, then it's fine. But to their shock, five minutes after the first guy leaves... an older man appears and takes a happy Kotonami into his car! Maria hopes that was her father... While at her part-time job in the restaurant, Kyouko is still pondering about Kotonami and the really expensive car she got in... can it be that she is in fact a rich family daughter?! Kyouko is happy again, until she goes to serve one of the tables and finds Kotonami, in another wig, with another man, calling him "old man" (as in pejorative father), and apparently her name now is "Katsumi"! Kyouko is very confused about all this, and next day during acting lessons, she tries to ask Kotonami, but Kotonami almost eats her head off. From the talks of the other girls, Kyouko realizes something might have gone wrong at her last job after all... but doesn't ask Kotonami. Kyouko gets into a really bad mood and scares away everybody in the company halls until a dark haired boy stops her and tells her to shut up and stop yelling. The boy recognizes the pink uniform and demands to know if she is in the same team as Kotonami. The kid starts complaining about things nosily and being pretty snotty and because of the rumors she heard before, Kyouko suddenly realizes that this kid might be the cause of Kotonami's problems in the job.
Chapter 49 (May'2004)
(beta version) The kid turns out to be UESUGI Hiou, a kid idol who was hurt accidentally on the head by Kotonami while in her last acting job. And who turns out to be guest-starring in Kyouko's rooster program (^^; ). Pandemonium ensues as Kyouko tries to stop Hiou from explaining about his injury in front of the TV. Hiou being a bright young... brat, realizes the person in the rooster is the same "Kotonami's friend" who he confronted earlier. He keeps insulting her and daring her since he knows who she is and even though he doesn't know her name, he will find out and... When Hiou has called her imbecile one too many times, Kyouko takes off the rooster head and gets serious. She asks him if this is how he treated Kotonami at work, and tells him to try do to her what he did to Kotonami. She says there is no papa, mama or anybody to hide behind and that she won't physically hurt him but... there are also bitter things to be experienced in this world and... Should she show him? *SMILE* The poor kid doesn't stand a chance. Much demonizing and screaming ensues once again. Later, Kotonami has returned to the company building, trying to tell herself she is not there to meet Kyouko. In truth, she is very scared about Kyouko's possible reaction at seeing her. But just as she has decided to leave, she meets Hiou! Hiou thinks "those black demons" conjured her up, while Kotonami asks how his wound is doing. Kyouko arrives with Hiou's manager and is very happy to see Kotonami. Kotonami falls into panic mode and hides behind Hiou, saying she came to see him. Kyouko scares Hiou into confessing he is happy Kotonami said that, and eventually Kotonami confesses that she is really bad around children and that's why she couldn't do the scene with Hiou in the drama, causing unintentionally his accident. Kyouko and Kotonami clear the misunderstanding between them. Hiou keeps wondering why Kyouko calls Kotonami "Mouko". Zahara ponders when she will be able to fully understand all the dialogue in this manga.
Chapter 50 (Jun'2004)
NOTE: Kotonami is KOTONAMI Kanae (Kotonami being the family name, Kanae her given name. I will use Kanae sometimes in this chapter as to differentiate her from her family) Kyouko calls "home" to tell them she will be late that night. She then joins Kotonami, who is taking her, the brat and his manager to her house. Kyouko wonders what she bought at the convenience store, and Kotonami answers she bought bait... and that Kyouko will understand as they get closer to her home. Kyouko talks animatedly with Hiou (the brat) and teases him about caring about Kotonami. It eventually ends up with Hiou calling her "Black Demon" and Kyouko lecturing him about being more polite to his "senpai"... But Hiou tells Kyouko not to talk to a veteran like him in that way, since he is 9 years her senpai. Apparently Hiou started his acting career when he was 2 years old (^^;;; ) and is now 11... poor Kyouko! They are suddenly interrupted by a pretty woman with two little kids who call Kotonami (Kanae) "Big Sister Kanae." Kyouko wonders if she knows them, but Kotonami's face has turned pale with horror, and as the two kids run up to her, she grabs something from the convini bag and throws it away, making the kids run after it. She then grabs Kyouko's hand... and runs away like the devil! (^o^; ) As they all run after her, Kyouko wonders what's going on. Kotonami says the woman before was the "ghost that eats money" and tells them they must run away fast. She also gives Kyouko a card key for the house entrance, which makes Kyouko assume Kotonami must be a rich girl living in a rich house. But when they actually arrive there, it's a normal one-family house(*). In that moment, the door opens and three children appear screaming Kotonami's name! Kotonami grabs 3 sweets and throws them like she did with the two kids before, then uses the opportunity to take Kyouko and Co. to the back of the house. Kyouko comments on how many siblings Kotonami has when... no! Naive! 6 more kids jump out of the house!! After diverting them, Kotonami screams to Kyouko to open the door and get in... but after she does so, four more people are waiting inside! (^^;;;; ) Kyouko and Hiou are left contemplating the extent of Kotonami's family (plus the non-shown three 20-something ones). That is to say... Not in Picture: Leader Kotonami Daughter (24 years old), Leader Kotonami Son (22 y/o), Second Kotonami Son (19 y/o). In picture: 1 - Leader son's wife; 14+15 - Leader Son's kids; 9 - Second Son's Wife; 10 - Second Son's kid; 2 to 8 - Kotonami's actual little brother and sisters; 11 to 13 - Leader Daughter's kids. (Resuming, Kotonami Kanae has one older sister, two brothers and 7 little siblings. ^^; ) As Kotonami attempts to deliver drinks to Kyouko and Co. while covered in kids (and throwing them around... yet they always come back!), they are explained that because of money problems, they all live in the same place. Seeing Kotonami deal with the kids explains to Kyouko and Hiou why Kotonami had such a big problem with the script's part of "playing with kids." Kotonami explains that she was just acting normal with Hiou (she shows two of the kids, who are 11 and act like 5 ^^; ) and they clear up the misunderstanding between them. (Note: There is a lot of dialogue, but I'm running out of time so I condensed it in two lines. Gomen ne~~ >_< ) (*: Once you go to the parts of the city where people actually live, it's about 75% mini houses with small floors and 2-3 stories tall where the whole family lives, the rest is small appartment buildings. Because houses are so expensive in the city, it's not uncommon for the whole family (parents, kids, kids' families) to live in the same house.)
