Welcome to the unofficial page of:
Ooya Kazumi is a well-known artist in Japan. She is probably also
one of the biggest deceptions for the yaoi fans since, even though she draws
really cool (or cute!) guys, her mangas are most of the heterosexual romance
type ;)
She usually works for Shogakukan, publishing manga in magazines like
Betsucomi or Deracomi and making illustrations for several novels. Even
though she has some long-runing series in her backlist, she usually goes
around making shorter yomikiri or one-chapter manga.
Ooya-sensei's art is very "shoujo-ish" in the "stylistic" way. Her
art looks carefree and un-detailed at times, but it's very effective and
her characters trasmit a very wide range of emotions. However, her "cool"
guys usually stay "cool" and you wonder at times if they have something in them
aside "coolness"... ^^;;; (but I digress...)
Please, use the menu at the left or the list below to move between this
pages! ^^ (Note that there is mostly information about her works for
Betsucomi and Deracomi in this page, not about her novels or shounen
ai manga)
Coments, corrections and contributions are always very
welcome! ^_-

About Ooya Kazumi, the author:
B-Day: [ 20th Mar. ]
Blood Type: [ A ]
Debut: Milk*Boy Sugar*Girl (in Dera-Comi), 1988.
Besides her manga works, Ooya has illustrated a
wide variety of novels and designed characters for some animations.
[Ooya vs. Ohya : Japanese can be written in several ways into
romaji. Both versions are correct, while Japanese usually choose the
harder way to romanize words and sometimes do it wrong, I decided on
"Ooya" because it's a litteral romanization that can't be misread
(in hiragana= o+o+ya)]
