Here you can find synopsis of the chapters of KiraKira Power (And remember to buy these tankobon if you like the summaries, it's the best way of thanking the authors and the synopsis are nothing compared to the real thing! ^^ )

Note: B/w scans are from the magazine, where the print is in low quality paper and different ink colors so it sometimes scans pretty bad and leaves lots of noise in the picture. The tankoubon quality is, of course, much better (perfect, that is).

Chapter 1 (Jun'2002)
NISHIHARA Mira, student of first year at high school, is late to a date with her best friend and classmate, Sanae. But when Mira arrives at the cinema, the hall is empty and there is only one young guy sitting in the chairs and... crying? Mira takes pity and offers him her handkerchief, but to her surprise, he turns out to be Subaru-senpai, from her same school! Mira is really nervous so she just smacks the handkerchief against him and tells him to cheer up before running away, blushing. It's the first time she has seen a guy cry and wonders why he was doing so. At school, Mira tells Sanae about Subaru, and Sanae thinks it was because the movie was spectacular (Star Wars Episode 2(*)...). In that moment, they happen to see him walking towards them and Mira smiles at him but Subaru just as spectacularly ignores her. (^^; ) Sanae thinks he is really cool (poor Mira...) and says that everything about him is just... the best. She then adds that his brother is also pretty cool too but... Mira had no idea Subaru had a twin brother and Sanae tells her about Minato senpai. Mira wonders what kind of person he is and think that she really knows nothing about Subaru. Later on, someone is testing people's voices, but doesn't like any... until he arrives to Mira! "Gotcha!!" Sanae and Mira stare in shock, it's Minato senpai himself! Minato goes to Mira and asks her to talk some more, then looks at the machine he is carrying, whose measuring needles are going crazy, and tells himself that there is no doubt about it, she is his predestined Goddess he has been seeking!! (^^;;; ) Minato grabs Mira, and drags her away in happiness as she screams in horror for someone to help her. Minato takes Mira to the astronomy club, places her on a magic star-circle drawn on the floor and tells its other 4 (very weird looking) members that he has found her! Nishihara Mira, 15 years old! He tells her not to be scared and presents himself as Tenma Minato, 17, and chief of the club. He tells her that he invented the machine that "found" her and that with her voice she can communicate with aliens (so please, start studing these alien languages...) Mira stays in the circle with the book Minato just gave her and watches everybody getting busy with their weird things (cristal balls, radars, UFO catcher machines(??!?! ^^;;; )...). Poor Mira is wondering how to get out of this room filled by loonies when she hears Minato welcoming... Subaru. Minato introduces Subaru and tells him about Mira as she wonders if Subaru is also in the astronomy club; since Mira seems to know him, he asks if they knew each other already, but Subaru denies it. Mira gets a little mad that he doesn't remember her, but then she starts to get depressed about the fact that he forgot her while she hasn't stopped thinking about him since the day they met. As she looks around the place, she finds another room, filled with boxes, a telescope, and wonderful prints of constellations and stars photographs. One of them grabs Mira's attention and she is really impressed by how pretty it is. Also, she seem to remember having read the title of it somewhere before... Subaru interrumpts her and asks if she liks stars. Mira says that she does, but she doesn't know a thing about them. Subaru says that he got the impression she was in the same alien-wave as the others, but she is very fast to deny that. He asks her then if she likes that photograph, and Mira (very happy to be able to be there talking to him) says that it's really pretty, and the stars look like falling snow. Subaru thinks for a moment, making Mira believe she said something stupid, but then suddenly smiles and agrees with her. Mira's shock at seeing his smile is so big she lets the print fall to the floor, and when going down to retrieve it, her hand touches Subaru's, who had done the same. Subaru looks into her face and touches her chin, getting closer... but then realizes that he is doing and breaks apart in shock! Subaru leaves the room without saying a word and Mira stays behind blushing hotly. Minato takes a peek into the room and jokes about her face, asking her if they kissed or something. She denies it, but Minato surprises her by asking her if she wouldn't like to know Subaru's "secret." Subaru's secret? Mira wonders if it has something to do with the crying of the other day. (* : At the moment of the publication of this chapter for the first time, SWII:TAOTC hadn't actually started to be shown in cinemas in Japan. In fact, it wouldn't for a little more than a month! ^^ )
Chapter 2 (Jun'2002)
Minato tells Mira that if she goes out with him once, he will tell her Subaru's secret! As it happens, Minato's idea of "going out" is a night out camping with the Astronomy Club so they can use Mira and call some aliens. (^^;;; ) True to his word, however, Minato tells Mira that Subaru's secret is actually the fact that he has a sight problem. He won't use glasses and if he wears contacts he starts crying and can't stop! Mira realizes that is the reason why he was crying in the cinema hall and tells Minato she is happy because at least he wasn't crying because something bad had happened. Minato starts screaming happily about how cute she is while behind them, Subaru sees the scene and puts back Mira's handkerchief into his pocket. At night, Mira and Subaru watch the rest of the club make all the preparations. Mira wonders if because of his bad sight, Subaru can't remember her. After he caughts her looking at him, she asks him why Minato is so much into this alien stuff, and Subaru explains that he saw and was "abducted" by an UFO when he was five. He says that nobody would believe him and he was really mad about that so... Subaru asks Mira if the story makes her laugh, but to his surprise, Mira says excitedly that she believes him because after all there are people in Earth, so it's not silly to think that there will be other people living out there, given how many stars there are. Subaru smiles at this. They are interrumpted by the others, as they are ready to begin. Minato gives Mira the "Welcome to the Alien Language!" book (written by he, himself :P) and also happens to mention that there might be bears around... As the club starts their (rather weird) rituals, Subaru asks Mira if it's ok to walk with him. He takes Mira's hand and tells her to be careful about her footing... so of course next thing she knows is herself rolling down a cliff and landing on poor Subaru. Mira notices he is bleeding and proceeds to put something over the wound while she says how sory and useless she is. He starts to say something, but she suddenly stands up... the view from where they are is just like in the photograph she saw at the club! They look at it together for a while. As they sit on the ground, Mira asks him about his sight and he says that he can see it all like if it would be a jewel. He tells her he is sorry for not doing it before and returns her handkerchief. Mira realizes he remembers about her and starts crying without knowing why. To her surprise, Subaru leans towards and hugs her! Unfortunately, the moment is broke by loud crashes and noises... it can't be! A bear?!
Chapter 3 (Jul'2002)
Is it a bear? Is it a monster? Is it an alien?!! It's... Minato. (-_-; ) Minato found them thanks to wrist transmitors he shares with Subaru and came to warn them about upcoming rain. Mira wants to stay, but Minato drags her away. When she calls for Subaru, he looks away. Because of the rain, they are returning home, and Mira is worried about about Subaru sudden changes of mood. Day after day, Mira goes to the Astronomy Club, but Subaru is nowhere to be seen. Finally one day, she learns he is in! She runs to meet him at the side room and almost crashes into him. He is checking one of the telescopes and Mira stays watching him. He asks her if she is not bored and she says he isn't. He takes the telescope to the roof and Minato convinces her to run after him and tell him her feelings about being with him. She does so and suffers surprising-not- consecuences! (^_-) When they check on Minato's equipment left in the forest, it's been all destroyed by a falling tree! Minato is depressed but the rest of the club wants to try again! Minato is very happy and hugs Mira saying that as long as they have her... (as Subaru prepares to eye-beam him...) Minato is all cheered up again and they take a group photo with the timer. However, as the camera snaps the photo, Minato, Subaru and Mira notice something in the sky... it's a UFO! (^_^) (with cute octopus-like aliens inside... (^_^;;; )) --The End--
