Obenkyou Shimashou

Obenkyou Shimashou was originally published at the end of December'2001 in the magazine The Margaret #2 (different from normal Margaret). It's a sweet 60 pages one-shot story about a top student in the school who has to help a bad student with his tests... But neither of them is what they appear to be at first sight. Like all Sakura manga, the art is cute and the guys are extremely cool! ^o^

Obenkyou Shimashou

When Michiyo was little, she tried really hard at studing and got a perfect score in a test. Everybody was very happy and she was in the spotlight for the first time... Ten years later, Michiyo is the top student of the school and she still studies very hard to be so. She is called to the teacher's office, where one of the teachers asks her to help one of his students, who is having really bad grades. Michiyo looks for this guy, Tsuyoshi Gouhara, and finds him about to kiss a girl. The girl leaves after telling her that Gouhara is pretty yummy *heart mark* Afterwards, Gouhara doesn't seem very enthusiastic about having to study with Michiyo for a week, and Michiyo herself doesn't like him very much, either. Then Gouhara teases her about her being like Ninomiya Kinjirou (a Japanese character who is a little boy carrying logs on his back and reading a book, always linked with studing and school) and gets too close to her, resulting in her fainting with a nosebleed! (^^;;; ) When she wakes up, he has taken her to the school's infirmary. She searches for her glasses, but they are pretty destroyed. He leans towars her and Michiyo is scared for a second that he is going to kiss her, but instead he tells her to wear contacts because she is pretty cute. Later at night, Michiyo tries really hard to study, but her thoughts keep on going back to Gouhara. Next day, Michiyo is really mad because her studing was a total mess thanks to him. When he appears after class, the rest of the students are amazed, and even more when he asks her to go out on a date! Gouhara does manage to drag her out away from the books and takes her to a beauty salon! He takes charge of her and puts make up on her and fixes her hair into a cute perm. Michiyo is amazed at the transformation and learns that Gouhara is a really good makeup artist. Later, he takes her into a real date to game centers and the like. Michiyo has a really good time with him. Afterwards, Gouhara asks her if she really likes studing, and she seems a little uncomfortable as she answers with a yes. He tells her that his thing is makeup, and that he is very happy everytime he manages to make a woman smile after making her look prettier. Michiyo tells him that he is really good because he managed to make her look cute. They both seem to hit off pretty well and Gouhara gives her a small special vanilla lip cream/color. He tells her that it's special for kissing. Of course, Michiyo can't stop thinking about him again while she studies. She even tries on the lip color... Next day, all her class is surprised at Michiyo's transformation. During her study time with Gouhara, she is daydreaming... She tells him that in fact she doesn't atually like studing, she hates it. She tells him that since that one test when she was little, everybody noticed her, so she just kept on studing to get good grades and have people look at her, even though she hated the studing. Gouhara tells her that it's pretty cool that she tryed so hard at something she hates. He tells her that he is inspired by her and will try harder. The following days are very good for Michiyo as she spends a great time teaching Gouhara and also with her classmates and friends. However one day she overhears Gouhara talking with his teacher about her, and he says that there is no way he is laying his hands on her. Michiyo is surprised at her own reaction to his words and realizes that she has fallen in love with him. Because of what she heard him saying she finds she can't make herself study with him anymore and tells him. However he stops her and asks her what's the problem with her and why she is crying. She tells him it's not his problem but he drags her into one of the rooms to talk to her. He puts the lip cream on her lips and then kisses her, to Michiyo's shock! She wonders unhappily why he did that, since he doesn't like her. She tells him that he heard him talking with the teacher about him, but he corrects her and tells her that he likes her, then asks her again to help him with the studing! (Then screams in horror as he had forgotten the tests are the following day...) --The End--
