Kojirou is kneeling on the floor, his arms tied at his back and
looking up with a worried, yet resolved, expression on his face.
Captain Luis looks down at him, feelingless. He might have
beaten down the pirated but... there is a punishment for
sea-jacking a ship.
Captain Luis aims at Kojirou's head with his firearm.
"Please, stop!!"
Maria, covered by a blanket, pleads for Kojirou very worried: there
is a reason why Kojirou wants to return to Japan so badly, she exclaims
as Antonio looks in disbelief.
Captain Luis looks at her coldly. "Reason...?"
"Ca... Captain!!" One of the sailors calls behind him. "Please,
take a look at this!" The man shows them a bag. "We inspected this
Japanese's possessions..." The bag is full of gold pieces.
Captain looks at one of them. "Gold!? This is a very expensive
piece of considerable purity!"
Behind him the sailors wonder at it aloud as Captain Luis looks
thoughtful, then looks at Kojirou. "You... what are you?"
Kojirou looks at him and tells him that the gold was given
to him and he took it along.
"That's how it is, then..." Captain Luis aims again at his head.
"That type of cajolery has a limit, and I'm not indulgent."
Maria calls him in horror, but Kojirou tries to defend himself.
"It's not a lie!! My father is the lord of a province, he's Date
Masamune!"
Captain Luis is taken aback with this and looks at Kojirou in
incredulity. "Masamune!?" He lifts Kojirou's chin with the cannon
of his firearm. "It's no wonder then, the resemblance..."
"You know father?"
"Mm..." Captain Luis is silent for a moment. Then gives orders
to his sailors, who can't believe it. "We advance to the east!! We
have a (business) arrangement. This ship is going to Japan!"
Maria looks at them. To Japan...
Antonio is not very happy at this arrangement, of course. And what
about he and Maria? Well, Captain Luis says, they can take a ship back
to Spain from Mexico.
Antonio looks at Kojirou really angry, goes to him and punches him
in the face to Maria's shock. After all the help they gave him, that's
how he's paying them back?
From the floor, Kojirou looks at him sadly as Antonio takes Maria
into the bridge. Maria looks back at Kojirou with a half-smile, happy
for him...
As day pass, Antonio and Maria (dressed in men's clothes), help in
the ship cleaning the floors. [Maria helps, Antonio
looks -_-]. Maria dries the sweat on her forehead. Father,
Martin... I'm returning to Spain...
Maria also helps sewing and with the food. She is taking it all in
pretty well but...
She looks at the horizon and wonders what she is looking at, it's
all sea. Then she realizes that perhaps from the top of the mastil
she will be able to see much more, so she starts climbing over the net...
and up...
and up...
and then she looks down and is totally terrorized on how far
she climbed! (^^). Thankfully, though, Kojirou is up and helps the
poor girl (^^; ) She wonders what he's doing there, but then she
notices what a wonderful sight there is from there!
[No, not the sea, silly girl, the guy! You are looking at the
wrong place! *^o^*;]
As they both look on, he comments on how it's the same sea,
but it changes so much depending on the location, time, etc...
Maria smiles sweetly and says that Kojirou and the sea are
very similar. The first impression, she explains, it's of coldness,
but then it turns into kindness... At first it looks like he would
be heinous, but now he is very much a fine person!
Kojirou looks to a side, not too happy, and wonders where did
she got that of him being a fine person, after all, he took
her as a hostage and...
Maria cuts him, blushing slightly, but it is very fine now that they had thi
s
meeting by chance, watching the scenery and all...
Kojirou thanks her,
then tells Maria that he will compensate them for
all what they did for him (and for what he did to them ^^; ).
"Really?"
Kojirou blushes slightly and offers her his little finger.
"It's a promise!"
Maria wonders what he's doing with his finger and Kojirou
asks for her little finger. Then he grabs hers with his and
sings a little melody as he shakes it. It's a Japanese
thing, he says, for agreeing on promises.
Time passes and they arrive to Mexico, where they manage
to find a ship that goes to Spain. Antonio is very happy,
but Maria thinks it's very fast... They are supposed to
leave on the following morning.
In their room at an inn, Antonio is lying on the bed
and talking to Kojirou, who is excusing himself. Then,
to Kojirou's shock Antonio says that when they are back
in Spain, he and Maria will marry! Kojirou mumbles some
congratulations with sad eyes.
Later in the night, Maria knocks on their door. Kojirou
is in yukata making some origami while Antonio is snoring
on his bed. Kojirou gives Maria some very cute origami
figures for Martin, and Maria, all happy, begs him to teach
her too that type of magic!
Antonio goes to Maria's room and they sit on the bed,
but Maria is not very good at origami... (^^; ) Kojirou
explains that the bird she is trying to form is a very
beautiful bird from Japan, and Maria says that she would
like to see that bird... and Kojirou's country as well.
Kojirou smiles softly and says that it might occur... But,
careful! Maria is bending the paper in the wrong way!
Kojirou leans towards her to show her how to do it, but
both their forehead touch and Kojirou falls back blushing like
hell (^^) and excusing himself. However, Maria is all smiles!
Kojirou sweats at that and stands up, saying he's going
back to his room, after all, it's not a good thing to be in
a girl's room and tomorrow--
"Wait!!" Maria tries to stop him from going, she wants
to be with Kojirou, she...
"Maria is going to marry Antonio?"
"Marry...?!" Maria is in total shock. It's not how it is!!
The person she likes is Kojirou--!!!
Kojirou looks at her in surprise and Maria's face turns
red as she realizes what she just said.
"Maria..." Kojirou gets closer to her. "Right now... what
did you say...?"
Maria is speechless first, then looks down, still blushing.
"I... like Kojirou..." Tears form in her eyes and start
rolling down her cheeks. It's the first time she feels like
this about a man...
"Maria..." Kojirou grabs her and hugs her hard.
"Kojirou..."
"I like Maria too..."
Maria looks into his eyes.... And they both share a kiss.
