Act 14 (Mar'2003)
Translation Available. It's summer vacations and Ayu gets a call from Nina. She and Yuta went to the Magic Kingdom for a visit. Ayu says that she has been busy so far. She and Kaji had two dates only, but they email and call each other a lot. Ayu tells Nina about a fireworks display and asks if she would like to come with the group (Yuta and his girlfriend, Kaji and Tsujiai). At the mention of Tsujiai Nina has a flashback... Tsujiai asks Nina about going out for real. He says that if that's so, then they can talk whenever they want. Nina blushes and says nervously that one should go out with someone one likes... Tsujiai plainly says he does like her (^^;;; ). Nina is shocked and asks why. He says that it's fun when she does magic. Nina silently runs this down the mill... doing magic? ... then it's not really her... any person from the magic kingdom would do? Nina gets really mad and tells him that no way, she is not going out with him! Nina stalks off and Tsujiai looks after her with a blank/thoughtful/dissapointed? expression on his face. Nina comes back to the present and agrees to go. After she hangs up, she thinks that even if there are bad feelings, they haven't stopped being friends, so it should be okay... right? Nina calls Yuta and tells him about the fireworks. He is in the middle of a date with Sayaka and asks if she wants to come as well. She agrees. Sayaka comments on what good friends he and Nina are. Yuta explains that they are childhood friends. Yuta asks if she doesn't have someone like that, and she says she doesn't because she had to change schools twice. Yuta wonders why she doesn't have any good friends in school either. Sayaka says that she is scared because she once hurted a lot her friend and the guy she liked. But since she started to like Yuta, she has decided to stop being a coward and wants to make new friends. They talk about her maybe becoming friends with Nina and Ayu, but while Yuta isn't looking, Sayaka looks once more deadly (and scaringly) serious. At Nina's home, her homestay mom is having problems with Nina's yukata's obi. Fortunately homestay-papa arrives just in time and she makes him help them with it... He looks at the instructions in the book homestay-mama was following and uses his magic. Nina's obi ties up perfectly! They are both really happy... Homestay-dad also gives Nina a letter that arrived for her, but since she is late, she runs out without reading it. Nina meets the others. Ayu is also wearing a yukata, and so is Tsujiai. Ayu introduces Sayaka to Nina, and they all start to walk. Nina suddenly realizes that since the two other couples are walking together, she is stuck in the back with Tsujiai. Nina nervously compliments him on the yukata, and he returns the compliment. Nina decides that since he doesn't seem to have a problem with her, she shouldn't either. She decides to read the letter that arrived. It's an anonymous letter that says, "Vanish!" ("Go away!"). Nina is shocked and talks out loud. She shows the others the letter and they all agree in that it's really mean. They wonder who could have sent it, and Tsujiai wonders if she hasn't made anybody angry at her. Nina says that she hasn't, but internally wonders if maybe the girl who likes Tsujiai saw them... She is really depressed and wonders who is hating her. Tsujiai tells her not to worry since it's only a letter and nothing else has happened. He smiles at her, and Nina thinks he is nice. As the time for the fireworks approaches, Ayu suddenly excuses herself to Kaji and drags Yuta, Nina and Tsujiai away. Kaji doesn't seem too happy about this. Ayu tells the others that maybe the letter is related to Nina being a mage. Yuta says that it's not possible, since it's a secret. Meanwhile, Sayaka wonders aloud what the 4 of them are doing. Kaji says that it's probably related to some problems Nina is having in home. Sayaka says that even though, it's still a little maddening. Kanji seems to agree. The group gets together again and the fireworks start. As the crowd cheers, Kaji takes Ayu's hand. She is really surprised! Doing this, in front of all these people? Of course they are all watching the fireworks but still! And so close to the others too... what should she do? She suddenly realizes that Kaji is leaning close to her, getting ready to kiss her! Ayu turns away. She realizes what she has done and looks back at Kaji, but he is looking forward with a slightly irritated expression on his face. Ayu internally panics. Later that night, Ayu sends an email to Kaji's cellphone saying she is sorry about what happened and that it was because she was in a bit of a shock. She gets a reply right away, Kaji says he is also sorry for being so sudden. Ayu is not totally convinced and wonders if it's really okay. Another day, Rio confirms with Nina that school is starting the following day. They are interrumpted by homestay-mom, who tells Nina that a letter arrived for her. It's another anonymous letter. "Go back to the Magic Kingdom." (About fireworks displays: Summer in Japan is full of fireworks displays, that are usually accompanied by a small festival with lots of small booths selling food, drinks and other ammenities. The practice of wearing a yukata (summer kimono) for these occasions is still very common between young girls and women. The firework displays take about 1 to 2 hours, and are usually hold in river banks or beaches (so there is actually space for the crowd). )
Act 15 (Apr'2003)
Translation Available. School starts after the summer break and while they are listening to the "welcome" speech, Nina tells Ayu about the second letter she received. However, they are interrupted when a new pretty teacher introduces herself to the students. Her name is KIRISHIMA Mito and, indeed, Nina recognizes her instantly, she is Yuta's older sister! After the speech, Nina, Ayu, Yuta and Tsujiai meet with Mito-sensei for introductions. It was a big surprise even for Yuta that she came to that school as a teacher. Mito-sensei says that she was interested because Yuta and Nina made the human world sound very entertaining while they were on vacation in the Magic Kingdom. Mito-sensei and Nina seem to be really happy to see each other (and seem to be equally childish... ^^; ). Ayu suddenly remembers the letter Nina got and they all talk about it. They realize that whoever is sending them knows Nina is from the Magic Kingdom not just that she can do magic. Ayu wonders if there is any other transfer student who knows about it, but Yuta is adamant about there being no-one else. They keep on discussing about it until Nina tells them to stop. However, Yuta is not convinced at all, and privately asks Tsujiai to keep an eye on Nina since Yuta goes to a different class. Tsujiai guesses that there is something going on with Yuta... Everybody loves Mito-sensei, and she is interested in Mikami-sensei! But he is not very receptive to her offer for a date. Mito wonders about this and asks Nina and Ayu if he has a girlfriend. Ayu says that perhaps it's because of Tamura-sensei (a very proper, nice looking teacher), who appeared in his "the person I love" photo back when Ayu had the special photo camera. While they talk with Mito, Sayaka walks to them and notices there is a girl (we don't see her face) looking at the group, who runs away the moment Sayaka notices her. Sayaka is introduced to Mito as Yuta's girlfriend (Mito wonders about this as well, since she seems to know who Yuta really likes is Nina), however, once she walks away, she turns back to look at them with the same dark expression as other times. After school, Kaji walks Ayu home, but acts perfectly gentleman-like. Ayu seems to be in a brooding mood about this and wonders if it's all because of what she did during the fireworks display. She is interrupted by a call from Nina, who invites her to go out with her and Mito! Once at Nina's place, Mito gives them magical chocoballs and... Ayu and Nina transform into a 20 year old version of themselves! Ayu is very shy of baring so much, but Nina and Mito drag her to a club. At the club, Ayu tells Mito about what happened with Kaji and how they don't seem to be able to attempt another go at a kiss. Mito teases Ayu about this, but someone comes to them and recognizes Mito... Mito doesn't know who this woman is, but she reminds her, she is Tamura-sensei! She is dressed for partying in hot shorts and small halter. Mito and Ayu can't believe their eyes. Mito wonders if she is with Mikami-sensei, but Tamura says he is not her type and doesn't think about him in that way at all (she is slightly snobbish about it...). After she leaves, Mito is really happy because now she can go for Mikami herself. They suddenly realize they don't know where Nina is. She is having way too much alcohol and has started to move bottles around with magic! Ayu manages to drag them both back home... Next day, a very serious Yuta catches up with Nina. He is worried because they used magic and went out clubbing. Nina lets it escape that she actually used magic in front of the people in the club and Yuta gets really angry and worried. He hugs Nina and tells her that he is really concerned!
