Ultra Maniac Extra Chapters Synopsis (chapters that appear in other magazines and are related to the manga but not part of the main storyline)

Note: B/w scans are from the magazine, where the print is in low quality paper and different ink colors so it sometimes scans pretty bad and leaves lots of noise in the picture. The tankoubon quality is, of course, much better (perfect, that is).

Extra Chapter (Ribon Summer Special 2002)

This side story was published between chapters 8 and 9. It appears at the end of the second volume. Nina and Rio (in human form) go to meet Ayu. Nina tells Rio that Ayu wanted very much to be able to talk to her cat pet, which she has raised from the start, so she made some magic candy that would turn the cat into a human, and gave it to her. Ayu meets them at the park with a very cute little girl, which she introduces as Tama. Rio is taken by her, but he is distracted by a passing butterfly as Tama looks at him... Meanwhile, Ayu thanks Nina and tells her that it was like a deam come true to be able to speak to Tama! (And Tama said she likes Ayu very much...) Rio loses track of the butterfly and sudenly realizes he just acted like a cat! As he turns to return, he finds Tama right behind him! Rio takes her hand and runs to return her before Ayu grows worried, but they can't seem to find them. Poor Tama starts to cry, but Rio distracts her and tells her it will be fine. Tama looks at him with starry eyes and says that he is fun and she wants to become his bride! Rio is shocked but... um, "o... okay..." Tama gives him a kiss on the cheek and says it's a promise, then. Nina finds them through her computer and wonders why Rio is blushing so much. She gives Tama a candy to turn her back into animal form but... she turns into a dog!! (Poor Rio...) Nina is surprised Tama is a dog when she thought it was a cat, and Ayu says that it was probably the name "Tama" that confused her because it's kind of a misleading name. In fact, the whole name is Tamako... Tama barks happily at Rio, so he takes a pill himself and turns into his cat form. He explains to Tama that because he is a cat, they both belong to different worlds, so it's fine not to go through with the promise she made. Tama thinks it for a moment and then barks happily and jumps over poor Rio! "Don't worry!" Ayu and Nina are happy that both of them have become such good friends... (^^;;; )
